Freedom, democracy, equality, human rights

With all the uprisings in the Middle East, these modern day revolutions of the people seeking to overthrow their long-time dictators and presidents, I must give gratitude for the freedom that I have enjoyed all my life.  I'm am grateful that I was born and raised in NZ where I graduated from school and university in an open-for-all, government subsidised, and compulsory education system.  I'm grateful that when I turned 18, I became eligible to vote for the government of my choice - and every 3 years I get to exercise that right.  I'm grateful that as a woman, I went to school, university, and am able to work.  I'm grateful that I can live my life without fear of persecution. I'm so grateful that I have the choice to go to church, and I get to choose the church I go to; be educated; express my feelings about various NZ governments and leaders; listen/read/watch the news from the source I choose; be educated and choose the courses that interest me most; drive a car; wear the clothes I want; read the books I want; and so forth.  I'm so grateful that I was raised with these liberties and I honour those that also seek those same rights that we in the West take too often for granted.

The temple

  • I'm so grateful that I had to go to the Temple on Saturday and for the peace that attending teh Temple always brings!
  • I'm grateful for the Spirit if the Temple - and also to know that if I'm worthy that that same spirit can be with me always!
  • I'm grateful for the Celestial Room,oh how I adore you dear Celestial Room!  Is there any other place on this earth that permeates every individual who enters with such peace and love?!
  • I'm grateful that South Korea has a temple.
  • I'm grateful that I was able to travel up to the Temple with the Busan Stake - 30,000won for the trip including kim bap and fruit.  How cool is that!

Soram, Kimberly, Magic Straight

  • I'm grateful to Kimberly taking me to a local Korean hairdresser and explaining to them in Korean what I wanted.
  • I'm grateful for the awesome hairdressers who did an amazing job on my hair (cut and straighten) and who only charged a ridiculous 50,000won.  Less than a quarter of the price I would expect anyway back home.
  • I'm grateful for "Magic Straight", for straight, glossy, smooth, light, no fuss hair everyday - including when it rains or is humid!!!!
  • I'm so grateful to Soram who messaged and called me the day after my "Magic Straight" to warn me it that rain was in the forecast.
